Liquid Fertilizer Release in Maxwell, CA

Woodland, California – On the evening of Wednesday, April 22, local authorities and facility managers were notified of an accidental release of aqua ammonia liquid fertilizer at the Grow West facility located at 5701 Maxwell Road in Maxwell, California. Authorities and managers arrived on site around 7:30 PM and successfully implemented safety and containment protocols including precautionary road closures and voluntary residential evacuations. The site was cleared at 11:15 PM. Overflow and containment capacity worked as it should to help contain the release. There were no injuries and the event was not a result of an equipment malfunction or failure. There was no facility damage and operations are back to normal. An internal investigation is underway. Grow West safety and operations staff are reviewing all operational and safety protocols with employees and will be reporting details of the accidental release to the required state and local regulatory agencies. Safety is a priority in all aspects of our company to ensure our employees, our customers, and our communities stay safe.
